warehouse operative - lates

abingdon distribution centre

in the role you will work as part of the warehouse team to store wet and dry goods to a consistent high quality and in a safe and efficient manner.

this is a full time permanent role working the late shift, monday to friday, 2pm till 10pm. due to the shift work this role comes a generous shift allowance.

key responsibilities

following legislative, company and departmental procedures, including h&s.

monitoring of and adherence to, warehouse processes.

receipt and despatch of goods.

stock control.

general maintenance/housekeeping duties around site.

operation of equipment involved in the warehousing operation.

to support fellow team members in the pursuit of departmental goals.

manual handling of materials and components

about you....

you will be required to be reliable and flexible in your approach to start and finish times.

you will need to hold a current counter balance fork lift truck driver licence and ideally a reach truck driver licence as well.

clearly this position requires an element of physical activity.

pick accuracy, unloading and loading vehicles is key to being successful in this role.

attention to detail is critical to ensure stock intake and outgoing movements are accurate and timely.

this position will also require the applicant to be reasonably proficient in the use of a computer and be prepared to allocate work to other members of the shift whilst taking overall responsibility for the decision making process during the period the night shift is operational.
