our award-winning apprenticeship programme offers you a chance to study for a practical qualification while contributing to the success of a fast-paced, constantly evolving organisation. horticulture apprentices will learn the principles of plant growth and development, plant nutrition requirements, ways to reduce waste, how to use equipment correctly, cultivating soils for differing purposes, controlling plant pests and diseases, and identifying plants.
in partnership with our training provider pershore college - one of the country's leading horticultural colleges - we are offering a two year apprenticeship in horticulture. you will be provided with first rate training leading to an nvq / qcf level 2 nationally recognised qualification, while at the same time working to make life better for our tenants and customers.
the role of apprentice - horticulture will include:
building a range of knowledge and skills over the course of 2 years
working on a range of horticultural and landscaping projects of all shapes and sizes
establishing plants and identifying pests
maintaining communal open spaces
building the customer service skills needed to build a career in the industry
skills and experiences:
a keen interest in horticulture and landscaping
a minimum of 2 national 5 qualifications (or equivalent) in maths and english (other subjects considered)
good practical skills and problem solving skills
enjoy getting stuck into physically demanding work
have plenty of initiative and be ready to step forward with your own ideas
