we have a great opportunity for an aat qualified accountant to join the team at this chartered accountants practice in wakefield city centre, west yorkshire.

full time, permanent (part-time hours considered for the right candidate)

salary £27,000 per annum, dependent on experience

this chartered accountants practice is a small and friendly company determined to offer excellent service to their clients, so they need the right person to help them do just that. they have some lovely clients so want to ensure that they have a brilliant team to help them.

the role is for an aat qualified accountant, or part qualified or by experience, who has previously worked in a firm of chartered or certified accountants only.

they need someone who has experience in preparing statutory accounts and tax compliance work for limited companies, and producing management accounts using excel and sage accounting software.

in addition, experience of preparing accounts and personal tax returns for unincorporated businesses is a must. they operate a payroll bureau service for clients, so experience of payroll software would be helpful.

they are registered auditors so you will have exposure to dealing with large companies as well as local owner-managed businesses.

this is a varied role, requiring a special individual who is a good communicator, enjoys talking to clients and solving their problems with real attention to detail and accuracy.
having a “can do approach” is absolutely essential, and you will need to be happy to work in a small team
having a high standard of work is just as important as being able to work independently, sometimes on clients’ premises, and being confident about taking responsibility for your own actions and decisions.

the office opens monday to thursday 8.30am to 4.30pm and friday 8.30am to 1.00pm.
