Complex care support worker - united kingdom, blackburn, lancashire

complex care support workers required for a 10-year-old girl who has cerebral palsy living in the blackburn area.

our client has waking care throughout the 24 hours. our client has complex care needs, and we require dedicated support works that are able to deliver a high standard of effective care, based on empathy, respect and compassion.

you will be expected to develop a professional relationship with her parents and siblings and ensure that they have time to remain as her family rather than being an essential part of her care regime.

you will support our client to meet all her activities of daily living, which includes attending school and taking part in a range of stimulating activities. you will assist our client to maintain her health status and progress aspects of development by implementing the given strategies set out by the various therapists. the complex care tasks include peg feeding, oral suctioning, administration of medications via a peg, seizure management and the prevention of aspiration.

we have vacancies available for full-time, part-time and bank positions. we operate a 12-hour shift pattern, working hours: 08:00am-20:00pm – 20:00pm-08:00am.

our client seeks someone who is well organised and flexible, and good communication and it skills will be essential. knowledge of makaton would be advantage.

rates of pay are dependent on experience. the starting rate is £14.00 per hour however, if you are able to demonstrate 2+ years of care experience and 1+ year of complex care delivery, in addition to nvq level 2 or 3 in health and social care or equivalent, higher rates will be considered.

all posts are subject to an enhanced dbs disclosure with child workforce barring. full training will be provided. a full driving licence is essential.
