Packaging handler 2nd shift - united states, chesterfield inlet

basic purpose and objective

under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, counts and boxes parts and makes necessary inventory transactions.  exercises some judgement in following instructions and making minor decisions.  calls supervisor's attention to any difficulties in operation.  occasionally required to instruct others in performing the packaging operations.

specific duties & responsibilities:

  • counts and boxes production utilizing scales, weigh pack, or similar packaging equipment.
  • converts numbers into correct decimal value.
  • works from work order, using computers or scanners to make necessary inventory transactions.
  • uses hand trucks and industrial forklift trucks to move product.
  • maintains cleanliness of the department.
  • able to work overtime.
  • other duties as assigned.
  • education required:

  • high school diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • experience required:

  • ability to read and write to follow quality and related instructions.
  • add, subtract, multiply, divide all units of measure, and quickly convert numbers into correct decimal value.
  • hi-lo experience preferred.
