our private family client based in weybridge surrey is seeking a live-in and live-out full-time family housekeeper/cook (allrounder).

this is a wonderful opportunity, for you to join a lovely family of (4); (2) principles, (2) children b15, g18 and two large dogs. this is a staffed household; the family have a pa, chef and are also seeking a part-time housekeeper to assist weekdays/weekends.

you will be experienced super allrounder, possessing an eye for detail, be reliable and flexible having worked within a fully staffed private household before.

you will be able to perform daily duties without supervision able to manage your work load using your skills. ideally seeking a long-term role, where you can use your knowledge and experience as well grow and develop further.

accommodation for live-in candidate;

your very own separate spacious one bed flat, located near the main property (bills covered by the client). you will be expected to generally maintaining the property, keeping the property tidy and in good order.

rotating weekly working days/hours;

(week 1) saturday - thursday 9:00 - 6:00(pm)

(week 2) sunday - friday 11:00 - 8:00(pm)

salary: £35,000 - £40,000 gross (depending on experience)

essential requirements;

" good communication skills

" child and pet friendly

" knowledgeable on what cleaning products are to be used and also health safety

" good understanding of food and safety hygiene in the kitchen

" happy to wear gloves

" overall happy to be part of the family and household team

the following is an example of your duties to be performed;

housekeeping duties:

" a high standard of housekeeping, and have an eye for detail

" miscellaneous domestic duties including tidying and cleaning all the rooms, keeping refrigerators clean and discarding out-of-date items, cleaning ovens, making beds, cleaning garden furniture etc.

" vacuum and mop floors. scrub, wax, and/or polish floors if necessary

" arrange, dust and/or polish furniture and other decorative items

" clean blinds, carpets, draperies, rugs, and upholstered furniture using vacuum cleaner and/or cleaning agents. always read labels for care instructions

" change cushion covers and draperies as required

" make beds and stow personal items away in designated closet or storage areas

" change bed linens as required

" clear dirty laundry and stow in laundry basket

" clean and dry bathrooms including bathtub, mirror, shower stall, sink and toilet seat

" ensure bathroom supplies and toiletries are replenished and well stocked

" change bath linens as required

" clean and/or disinfect kitchen work surfaces, food preparation areas and floor

" wash and/or disinfect dishes, utensils and other kitchen appliances after meal

" keep storage areas clean and tidy

" run errands when requested

" label all dangerous, toxic and unsafe agents, chemicals, materials and supplies correctly and clearly

" keep dangerous, toxic and unsafe agents, chemicals, materials and supplies safely and away from children and pets

laundry duties:

" wash and dry personal clothing and any other linens.

" iron clothing and any other linens.

" sort white from coloured clothing and any other linens.

" wash whites separately and similar colours together.

" sort and send clothing and any other linens to the dry cleaners. maintain inventory of items sent and returned.

" organize clothing and any other linens, fold and place in the respective closet.

" mend or alter clothing and any other linens.

" always read labels on the clothing or any other linens for specific care in washing, drying, ironing and stain removing.

" check and clean the filters of the machines. maintain the machines in good working order.

" keep the laundry area clean and tidy.

cooking duties:

" cook and serve meals and snacks for the family

" cook and serve meals and snacks for guest, on family occasions and other social events

" note dietary restrictions and preferences of family and guests

" estimate food consumption and maintain sufficient food inventory

" keep a record of expenditures

" check expiration dates and monitor preferred used by dates of all food supplies

" observe good health and food hygiene when preparing meals and refreshment

childcare duties:

" perform school runs as required

" chaperon children to after school activities and other events/outings as required

" supervise children as required

pet care:

" let pets out into the garden and supervise

" prepare breakfast, snack and dinner for pets and feed

" shower, dry and groom pets fortnightly and/or coordinate grooming sessions

" clean toileting accidents as quickly as reasonably possible and dispose waste appropriately

" bring pets for vet visits as required

" give medication as required

unless otherwise specified a minimum of 3 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay
