we are looking for an ambitious management accountant with a proven track record of working in either in practice or within industry. the successful candidate will have sole responsibility for producing the management accounts, and tracking & reporting financial progress to the group fd and private equity owner. our company manufacture and sell windows and doors, mainly supplying uk housebuilders such as barratt homes et al. the business has a turnover of around gbp7m turnover, with 450k profit intention is to grow organically and through further acquisitions in this sector to build a group of related businesses. therefore the role is likely to grow as the business expands with associated learning and development opportunities. description as the management accountant, you will be reporting to the group fd, and will be responsible for all the accounting activities for this business. your duties will be extremely varied, and will include, but will not be limited to: producing monthly management accounts with analysis and commentary preparation of weekly executive reports against kpi s prepare financial statements - profit and loss and balance sheet balance sheet reconciliations working with directors on cost reports managing the fixed asset register, including depreciation and additions review purchase ledger, sales ledger and cashbook and ensure any discrepancies are investigated and resolved journals, accruals and prepayments tracking vehicle costs and allocating costs payroll support during holiday, sickness ensure the year-end audit file is updated monthly ensure adjustments and expenses provided by payroll are posted compile report for charitable donations and sponsorships review and manage bad debt provisions vat returns. profile to apply for this position, you: must have the right to work in the uk will have a proven track record of working in management accounts will have good excel skills e.g., v look ups and pivot tables the role will be fast-paced and hands-on, requiring the job holder to have exceptional knowledge of the accounting basics, using excel to produce reports for the directors and management team. an enthusiastic, can do attitude is essential. we are open to considering candidates with varying qualification levels e.g., you might be qualified by experience, or aat qualified, or currently studying cima or acca. job offer we offer: an extremely varied role in a fast-paced environment a salary between 35-45k salary (dependent upon experience) + 5-10k bonus. 20 days holiday plus bank holidays a 37.5-hour working week membership of a contributory pension scheme study support for cima, acca or aat opportunities for further training and career progression. the role will be fast-paced and hands-on, requiring the candidate to have exceptional knowledge of the accounting basics, using excel to produce reports for the directors and management team. an enthusiastic, can do attitude is required
