Accounts supervsior - united kingdom, waltham cross, hertfordshire

this employer is a long-established, successful family-run business based in the hertfordshire/north london borders.

they are seeking for an accounts supervisor to join their finance team - you should be bright, driven, numerate and ambitious.

what we are looking for:

- previous experience working within a busy accounts payable department

- experience of handling and reconciling cash from several tills

- a team player who is polite, courteous, and comfortable in front of customers

- attention to detail whilst simultaneously working in a high-volume transactional environment and able to remain calm under pressure

- someone that can work independently to meet deadlines and prioritise appropriately

- it is essential that this person is willing to 'roll-up their sleeves' and understand the details of the business

- someone that is tenacious and inquisitive, not happy to accept the status quo and continuously looks for ways to improve processes

- a candidate with good it skills including microsoft excel and the ability to learn to use new in-house systems

what you will be doing on a day to day basis:

- accounts payable - assisting in all areas of the purchase to pay cycle. activities would include managing the accounts payable mailbox, scanning invoices, matching and authorising payments, debit note management, preparing bacs payments and assisting with relevant queries from the business and suppliers

- cash office - this is the lead role and is responsible for processing and reconciling of cash from all the tills in the stores. this extends to preparing for cash collections, processing gift card payments and various refunds where necessary

- accounts receivable - assisting where needed with processing of various customer refunds, assisting with outstanding customer balances, and various debtor reporting and reconciliations.

- customer credit - assisting with all back-office functions relating to their 3rd party credit services offered

- ad hoc - assisting the accounts functions as well as other departments in other finance matters and projects including, but not limited to: sales queries, month-end management accounts; assisting auditors at year end, petty cash and expenses, vat and ons queries, bank reconciliations

- technology and modernisation - assist the business in looking to adopt new technologies and ways of working to drive performance and efficiencies in accounts payable

this role will you require to work 40 hours a week. you must be in a commutable distance from waltham cross as this is an office-based role.
