this engineering company is the uk's leading pump distributor, with its head office based in sheerwater, woking, surrey.

they are currently recruiting for a stores assistant to join the team and develop within the company.

this is an entry level role with no prior experience required. full on the job training will be provided, however the applicant must be enthusiastic, willing to learn, and courteous.

the key principles of the role are to assist with general workshop duties as listed below to help the company achieve on time delivery and provide exceptional customer service.

the role:

working alongside the workshop manager and reporting to the general manager, the stores assistant will be required to assist in the day-to-day operations in the workshop. the general functions include:

- order picking and preparation

- stores control

- packing and despatch

- stock checking

- non-conformance recording

- documentation checks

- general workshop & office maintenance

following additional training:

- fork lift operation

- pump assembly and testing

- assembly of production order pump sets

- investigation and repair of returned goods

- pump repairs

no experience necessary, however the successful candidate must be it literate and comfortable using microsoft outlook, word and excel.

the company can be flexible on working hours and days, provided you are able to work at least 20 hours per week. full-time is 37.5 hours per week.

pay would be in line with national minimum wage for your age bracket. this would be reviewed as you develop in the role.

office hours are 8:00-16:30 monday-thursday, and 8:00-13:30 friday.
