the robotics and engineer technician provides technical support, creates new programs, and researches new avenues of technological improvement and advancement for automated systems. they will be a strong plc programmer able to test and debug source code, provide onsite technical support and field service for customers.
this position does require the ability to travel up regularly up to 20% of the time which can include overnight travel and projects that last several weeks.
responsibilities include but are not limited to:
writing and debugging effective and safe control programs that meet the requirements of the end user and expectations.
maintaining the quality of equipment shipped.
following company build standards and technical guidelines, including deviation lists that may be provided to allow for customer specifications or requirements.
ensuring control programming of equipment and tooling is complete, safe, and functional.
providing training and guidance to less experienced plc technicians and programmers..
debugging of electrical systems as needed for operation of all machines.
communicating with robot programmers on what is needed from them to make a project run smoothly.
qualifications:
an associates or bachelor’s degree in mechatronics, electro-mechanical engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering or equivalent.
2+ years’ experience in plc programming or as a junior plc programmer
superior communications skills
advanced c, c++ or java programming skills
highly proficient in all allen bradley software
able to adapt to other plc and hmi programs (ie. siemens, automation direct, mitsubishi, omron)
experience with rslogix 500, rslogix 5000, studio 5000 and factory talkview
