we are looking for a dependable morning receiver to join our team!

lalou is a neighborhood restaurant and wine bar on vanderbilt avenue in the heart of prospect heights, brooklyn. its market-driven lunch and dinner menus showcase approachable wine-friendly food with a focus on locality and seasonality.

the receiver is responsible for signing in all food and beverage deliveries, storing them according to guidelines, and performing cleaning tasks related to the maintenance of the restaurant.


responsibilities:

unpack all incoming product with care, storing all items in proper containers with clear, neat labels have awareness of any damaged or poor quality product as it is coming into the restaurant identify and differentiate between all perishables, dried goods, liquids, etc. communicate effectively with the restaurant team store invoices according to restaurant procedure perform routine cleaning of communal spaces, dining room, dry goods storage, refrigerators, etc water indoor and outdoor restaurant plants perform basic prep tasks in the kitchen receive and unpack linen deliveries

requirements / ideal candidate:

proof of vaccination for covid-19 experience in a support position in a full-service restaruant ability to walk or stand for long periods of time demonstrate a passion for food familiarity with dietary restrictions (i.e. gluten-free, vegan, food allergies, etc) ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
