rotating shifts: 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm

due to continued growth and expansion, our client are looking to recruit an experienced maintenance shift engineer.

the successful candidate will be overseeing up to three production lines. the night shift pattern can be discussed at interview stage.

job purpose

to respond to equipment breakdowns and to complete preventative maintenance and repairs to ensure maximum factory efficiency

key accountabilities/ responsibilities

• adheres to a proactive safety culture ie hazard spots raised & actioned.

• completes planned preventative maintenance activities on time in full

• completes actions resulting from internal and external h&s audits to ensure all external accreditations are maintained.

• completion of all mandatory h&s training

• maintains and raises hygiene standards to gmp requirements.

• identifies and repairs faults using current fault finding & root cause problem solving techniques.

• adherence to all legal and company procedures

• always completes engineering records. all relevant information and detail produced is as accurate. ensures all relevant information is handed over to the relevant parties, documented and is as accurate and complete

• completes actions resulting from internal and external quality audits to ensure all external accreditations are maintained. resolves issues raised.

• all equipment and component failures documented, and where required ppm procedures & schedules are adjusted in current engineering system.

• actively takes ownership for delivery of actions arising from daily production meetings.

• through close liaison with all relevant teams, ensure all production lines are ready and available for use to meet weekly production plan

• waste - all waste disposed of safely in accordance with company procedures.

• correct booking out procedure adhered to at all times for spares

• volume - actively seeks to ensure all company assets can achieve at least their minimum hourly planned rate.

• build strong collaborative working relationships with colleagues, in particular shift managers, team leaders, team members, sharing knowledge, skills and experience.

• demonstrate with colleagues, clients and suppliers habitual behaviour with cando principles (courage, accountability, networking, drive & oneness) and is aligned with current global competency.

knowledge/qualifications:

• a certified time served engineering apprenticeship and hnc/d or equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering.

• able to demonstrate an in-depth experience of plc software is essential i.e. diagnostic

technical/professional experience:

• fmcg company/environment

• iosh working safely certificate

• liquid bottle packing environment

• lean manufacturing tool/techniques (tpm, smed, 5s, kaizen, vsm- value stream mapping, 8 wastes)

• pc based engineering software

• evidence of introducing best practice and continuous improvements

• allen bradley plc knowledge

• servo drive fault finding experience

• control and instrumentation improvements & design
