overall responsibilities:

  • the stem pgm is responsible for developing, coordinating, and executing the stem program for diverse high school students working in partnership with gso/ti.

  • top 3 daily responsibilities:

  • design, deploy, and maintain comprehensive stem education program for high school level students.

  • ensure curriculum content and stem activities are engaging, student-centered, inquiry-based, scientifically accurate, and tenure appropriate. 

  • create a balance of all categories of stem (science, technology, engineering, and math) in the curriculum. identify opportunities for students to apply stem topics within techinfra.

  • required skills:

  • bachelor’s degree in education or stem-related field with 3+ years of experience
  • demonstrated experience and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion 
  • strong analytical, detail oriented, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • at least 5 years of formal or informal teaching experience in science, math, technology or related fields
  • at least 5 years program management, mentoring, and development/lab experience
  • documents stem program plans and develops new ways to grow online and training initiatives for high school students.
  • work with school system to implement and manage strategies and programs to best present with the atlanta public school system.
  • detail-oriented, organized, and able to provide exceptional support and empathy to the high school students
  • self-motivated, team oriented, and creative 
  • ability to effectively work on diverse teams or with a diverse range of people 
  • must show evidence of student advocacy, productivity, event planning, and strong interest in career/professional development in stem-related field.
  • nice to have skills/not required:

  • masters degree in education and/or stem-related field
  • knowledge of inquiry-based learning 
  • event planning is preferred, but not required with requisite skills.
  • experience working with or within a high school stem program.
