sacco mann are working with a leading modern firm with a great culture and ethos in sunderland who are looking to bring an experienced lawyer to join their private client team as the head of department. ideally you will have upwards of 6 years' worth of experience as a private client lawyer but the firm are welcoming applications from those that fall just outside of this level.

the role

you will be the head of department overseeing the work of solicitors, trainees, paralegals, assistants, secretaries and others within the private client department

training and mentoring the employees of the firm and hold seminars for third parties you are regularly in contact with

ensuring the targets regarding billing are met with solid communication running through the team

conducting the team appraisals and managing the performance of the team

you will be the main point of management of debtors including the obtaining of funds on costs and disbursements

monitoring the individual and team targets

building and maintaining a solid contact database by conducting excellent client care skills and encouraging referral work

the ideal candidate

you must be a chartered legal executive with upwards of 6 years' worth of experience in private client with a solid understanding of how to manage a team

you will have excellent drafting and communicational skills as you will be working with all walks of life

you will be personable with strong capabilities in building and maintaining a solid rapport with clients and ideally have developed strong long term relationships with clients previously
