9:00am - 5:00pm, monday to friday hybrid working, with a minimum requirement of three days in the office per week and two days working from home. national charity hearing dogs for deaf people, which trains dogs to transform the lives of deaf people, is looking for an enthusiastic volunteer enquiries coordinator. our charity receives no central government funding and relies on its kind volunteers to nurture and train hearing dogs, as well as provide personalised hearing loss services, because nobody with deafness should feel alone. we are truly indebted to our volunteer family and have over 3,000 fully registered, active volunteers involved in a range of fun and worthwhile roles across the uk. the volunteering department are responsible for recruiting and retaining this wonderful army of volunteers and are kept very busy with finding the right people, matching them to the perfect role, and ensuring their onboarding experience is professionally executed. we wish to find someone to commit long-term to this great opportunity to join the central volunteering team. perhaps someone with existing skills looking for a move into the charity sector or a recent graduate searching for an inspiring and interesting first job. whichever way, we need someone with a bright, happy personality and can-do attitude to seamlessly join the team and add value from day one. the successful candidate will: play an extremely responsible part in a high volume, results-focused volunteer recruitment and application programme, ensuring that potential volunteers receive a warm and professional first impression of the charity. explain, and coordinate thereafter, a wide breadth of volunteering roles to potential volunteers, including microvolunteering opportunities and duke of edinburgh placements for students. help generate volunteer enquiries, and support volunteer retention, by specialising in social media within the team. use their excellent written and verbal skills, as well as a natural ease in dealing with people, to relate well to newcomers offering the gift of their time. offer excellent customer service and efficiency to the volunteer onboarding journey, understanding that the days of "paperwork" are over. we are looking for strong database and it skills, a stickler for process and procedure, and a fastidious eye for detail. our charity is fun, friendly, and caring with a mission to train dogs to change the lives of deaf people. we are based in beautiful surroundings at the charity's training centre in the chiltern hills, near saunderton in buckinghamshire. if you are interested in working with us in this varied and immensely rewarding job, please apply via the apply button. closing date: 5pm, friday 7th october 2022
