an excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and talented individual, to join my award winning and highly successful client as a regional supply chain manager - emea, to form part of their international team. the successful candidate will be responsible for managing activities relating to the flow of materials, products, and services, including forecasting, planning, scheduling, order placement, warehousing/storage, inventory management, packaging, distribution, and delivery to customers. the role is hybrid working between home and the office in andover, hampshire, and involves significant travel.

duties and key responsibilities

* work with internal stakeholders to create and implement improvement to supply chain activities and processes, including forecasting, planning, and fulfilment of customer requirements

* work with commodity managers to implement corporate strategies and negotiate contracts with suppliers and logistics companies

* work with site purchasing managers and buyers to source and hold the right products in line with requirements and customer expectations

* work on forecasts and inventory management, implement robust solutions, monitor and analyse performance, and maintain accurate records

* plan and implement logistics strategies to support site and corporate goals

* champion the use of digital solutions to manage and track goods from point of origin to destination

* oversee product storage, handling, packaging, and distribution activities

* evaluate supply chain data to solve issues or implement new plans

* support and lead new product development projects

* support the development of relationships with existing and new suppliers

* monitor and assess supplier performance to maintain cost-effective practices

* identify and minimise supply chain risk (e.g., operational, or reputational) that could affect or interrupt the supply chain

* develop safety guidelines, teaching, and enforcement of protocols

* mentor, supervise and train employees

* consider and address the environmental impact of the supply chain

* monitor and report sustainability credential to address risks and support business development

* stay alert to new trends and developments, and adopt new technology with minimal interruption to the process

supervisory responsibilities:

* dotted line responsibility for designated site procurement and logistics staff (matrix structure)

qualifications and educational requirements:

education:

o bsc degree in a supply chain management discipline or other relevant degree with significant experience in a similar role

o post graduate professional qualification, e.g., cips, cpim, cscp or equivalent is preferred

certificates, licenses and registrations:

o mcips or ioscm membership is advantageous

the ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

* minimum of 5 years experience in supply chain management (with direct report responsibilities preferred), ideally in an industrial environment

* workings of erp/mrp/wms

* experience in s&op, inventory management, production control, scheduling, procurement, and warehousing

* the ability in creating and implementing supply chain strategies, policies, and procedures

* experience with integrated planning systems and pc applications

* advanced knowledge in the use of computers and applications, such as; microsoft word, powerpoint, excel, power bi, and mrp, with the ability to analyse and determine trend data

* in-depth knowledge of erp systems and the use of mrp as a planning tool

* fluent in the use of project management tools

* happy to travel internationally for work on a regular basis
