Certified medication aide/cna - united states, asheville

we are currently seeking certified medication aides/cna to join our team! this is a ft overnight position with rotating weekends. 

qualifications:

  • will maintain active non-restricted certification as a cna in the state of north carolina.
  • have passed a 24-hour n.c. board of nursing-approved medication aide training program and pass the state medication aide exam, and be listed on the n.c. medication aide registry.
  • long-term care experience preferred.
  • must have ability to multi-task job duties and care for multiple residents.
  • able to follow and give written and oral directions.
  • possess the ability to communicate effectively and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, families, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
  • able to perform job duties as assigned by rn/lpn within the scope of practice defined by the north carolina board of nursing and north carolina healthcare personnel registry.
  • major duties and responsibilities:

  • prepares and administers medications to residents following established procedures.
  • takes and records vital signs upon administration of medications when required.
  • orders and re-orders medications and returns all discharge medications for credit in compliance with regulations.
  • maintains neat, clean, and orderly medication room and cart. takes appropriate precautions to make sure residents / patient do not have access to medications other than those prescribed.
  • completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
  • provides adl care and assistance to residents in accordance with their individualized plan of care.
  • acceptance of work direction from the hallway rn/lpn or other members of nursing administration.
  • advocates and promotes residents rights.
