Hr leave administrator - united states, pittsburgh

we are assisting a company local to robinson township, pa in their search to fill a direct hire hr leave administrator.

 

principal responsibilities:

  • first point of contact for leave of absence administration.
  • has a deep understanding of fmla, ada and other applicable federal, state and local laws including keeping up to date on future changes.
  • communicates with employees regarding their responsibilities and expectations from the beginning of the leave to the end of the leave, including but not limited to documentation and notice requirements.
  • administrates other company time-off programs as assigned in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • creates and maintains accurate and compliant leave of absence tracking and recordkeeping.
  • maintains reasonable communication with employees and internal partners throughout the leave and as needed to facilitate a smooth and timely return to work.
  • responds in a timely manner to information requests from leave tpa, employees and internal partners in a professional manner and escalates correspondence when necessary and appropriate.
  • advises managers and employees on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, workers compensation, short-term disability and long-term disability benefits.
  • preserves confidentiality of employee medical documentation and files.
  • facilitates other leave requests, which may include accommodation requests under ada and modified work schedules.
  • maintains an understanding of all company benefits to ensure employees understand the function of their benefits during a leave or disability event.
  • performs other related duties and special projects as required and assigned
  • participates and contributes to company safety program
  •  

    qualifications: 

  • education: bachelors degree in human resources preferred
  • experience: minimum 3-5 years of experience in similar role
  • license/certification: shrm-cp preferred
  •  

    knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • proficient in microsoft office products especially excel
  • ability to support a variety of personalities and functions in addition to interacting with staff at all levels
  • experience with ceridian dayforce
  • expert written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
  • strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
  • ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and work independently in a deadline-oriented environment
  • superior customer service and high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation
