the risk & resilience team at dyson exists to help dyson identify, appropriately transfer, mitigate, and be prepared to respond to key risks to the achievement of its objectives. the group business continuity function leads on global strategy, supporting the business by developing and testing business continuity capability to ensure that dyson is both ready and supported in event of a disruptive incident.

about the role

reporting to the head of group business continuity, you will support and challenge designated areas of the business in the development and improvement of business continuity plans. you will provide close support to the head of group business continuity and the director of risk and resilience in the implementation of initiatives to embed business continuity, to provide understanding of how to prepare for business disruption. you will support with preparation of reporting to the executive committee and the board.

the role will provide you with a unique insight into how the group operates internationally, giving you the opportunity to help shape and implement risk and resilience processes in a high growth and entrepreneurial business, collaborating with colleagues across risk, insurance, it and security.

you will support the development of the business continuity management system at dyson, working closely with stakeholders across the business and ensuring business continuity software is managed, administered, and configured. you will also develop the program of work to deliver the business continuity strategy, which includes the creation of business continuity plans (bcps), the development of training materials and guidance, the design and development of exercises for bcps, the continuous improvement and maintenance of bcps, and critical review of third party bcps. you will conduct reviews of incidents to ensure lessons are learned and incorporated into planning; provide business continuity expertise for specific projects; and coordinate business continuity, crisis or incident management plans in the event of a major incident or crisis.

about you

- experience in a business continuity or resilience role, implementing risk-based frameworks, processes, and procedures, preparing, and responding to disruptions in business or it operations

- experience in defining new operational models and procedures, explaining complex problems or situations, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to meet goals across multiple projects

- educated to degree level, ideally with a relevant qualification (e.g., cbci)

- pragmatic and commercial approach to risk management and problem solving

- an excellent communicator (both written and verbal), clear and concise

- able to provide robust challenge, influence decisions and develop relationships with senior management

- calm under pressure, highly credible, high levels of integrity, good attention to detail, able to deliver multiple projects concurrently, autonomous and collaborative, driven
