shift: mon-fri: 8 hour shifts between 6:30am-5:00pm (could offer weekends and evenings if candidate prefers)
job summary: the therapy support staff–physical rehab completes office, reception, and clerical duties for the physical rehabilitation department, as well as supporting the practitioners both in house and at outreach clinics. registers patients, verifies insurance eligibility, and determines prior authorization needs, reconciles denials and assists with coding and billing for all patients. maintains materials and supplies for all department areas.
therapy support staff job require candidates to:
registers patients and/or their representatives and completes associated paperwork.
greets incoming patients in a prompt and courteous manner and assists with their immediate needs.
gathers and/or verifies complete and accurate demographic and insurance information and enters that information into the computer.
obtains required signatures according to departmental policies and procedures.
processes and distributes registration paperwork according to departmental policies and procedures.
scans all insurance cards, identification cards, and all required documentation.
collects patient co-payments and deductibles as appropriate.
completes any specimen registrations accurately and within designated timeframe.
completes order entry as required.
selects correct patient from master list or creates new patient record as required.
minimum qualifications
education: high school diploma or equivalent.
experience: one (1) year related experience in a medical office or related experience working with automated systems and computer technology.
