summary

• i am a 21 year old young man looking for support in my family home and also to support me to take part in a variety of activities outside of the home.

• i like fast cars and watching films like fast and furious. i also enjoy watching football and support chelsea and brighton and hove teams. i have a caring nature and a wicked sense of humour.

• you will be working alongside another pa or my mother on a 2:1 basis at times.

• i may require support and accompaniment to medical or other appointments

• i need someone with a driving licence so they can drive my wheelchair adapted vehicle

• starting rate £11 per hour increasing after probationary period.

• this is a rewarding role with all professional training provided.

• must be comfortable with pets

• non-smoker preferred or someone who is willing to refrain from smoking during work hours.

the role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against covid-19. careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds.

domestic -

helping with laundry, washing/drying/ironing

changing bed linen

bed making

general cleaning

general housework, including cleaning, dusting and vacuuming.

preparing drinks, snacks and meals.

shopping

tidying

personal care:

• all personal care

• applying creams as necessary

• catheter care

• dressing and undressing

• transferring between bed and wheelchair using hoist

• helping with other all other aspects of care as required

• physiotherapy/stretching exercises

social:

• accompany on shopping and social trips and daily activities when required

• support to access social and leisure activities, including hydrotherapy

• accompany to doctors/hospital appointments when required

• accompanying to social meetings eg friends, family

• the above duties will involve driving wheelchair adapted vehicle and securing wheelchair through use of wheelchair clamps and driving,

• whilst on duty at the employer’s home watching tv and assisting with craft activities
