family description and location
this is a fantastic job for a housekeeper to work for a british family living in a beautiful hampstead home. the client lives equidistant from hampstead and golder’s green tube stations and there is a bus from each station to outside the house. there is also parking available on site if you drive. you will be working with another live in housekeeper who works from wednesday to sunday as this is a large house.(on mondays and tuesday you will be working alone .the family have three older children (2 school aged and 1 at university) so there is no childcare, pet care or cooking with the role.
job description
your role will be to keep the house clean, organised and well presented at all times. they have many antiques, art works and silver, you will need to be familiar with handling and cleaning these. you will also need to understand how to do laundry and ironing to a very high standard, including the care of fine fabrics and designer clothing, experience in wardrobe management including labelling, sometimes photographing, seasonal wardrobe rotation, simple mending of hems/buttons, packing and unpacking suitcases. the role will also involve you being able to answer the door and greet visitors, set the table for meals and serve light snacks as required (mostly for the children).
candidate requirements
it is essential that you have worked as a housekeeper in a high-end executive style home for at least 3 years with suitable references. you will need to speak good english, be reliable and trustworthy.
days of work and salary
this is a monday to friday role but you will work late on a monday and tuesday when the other housekeeper is off.
salary will depend on experience but will be in the region of £600/£680 npw ie £15-£17nph.
40 hour paid week (45 hours with hour off for lunch)
monday and tuesday – 10:30am – 7:30pm
wednesday, thursday and friday - 9am – 5:30pm
