job title: legal assistant

project overview:

as a specialist on this team your primary responsibility will be to process and respond to requests, subpoenas and court orders written in portuguese received from law enforcement agencies seeking access to customer information.

overall responsibilities:

responsible for complying with legal requests (e.g., court orders, prosecutor requests, preservation requests) received from government agencies in brazil. we are seeking detailed-oriented specialists who are able to work independently to process high-volume data requests expeditiously, all while ensuring compliance with privacy laws and internal procedures.

top 3 daily responsibilities:

  • triage, index and organize incoming legal requests and inquiries from multiple brazilian law enforcement agencies.
  • review, analyze, process, and respond to various types of legal requests, related to real-world criminal investigations.
  • accurately analyze legal documents with attention to detail.
  • skill/experience/education

  • ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal oversight.
  • strong organization skills with high attention to detail in daily work management.
  • authorization to work in the united states.
  • ability to speak and write in english and portuguese fluently and idiomatically.

  • ideally a bachelor’s degree/paralegal certificate or equivalent work experience.
  • 2 years of experience in working data entry in a position that would require a high level of detail.
  • experience updating and maintaining documentation (e.g. training manuals and workflow charts).
  • experience navigating complex internal policies and workflows.
  • experience using analytical tools to identify trends and improve processes.
  • experience initiating and tracking escalation process.
  • prior experience complying to law enforcement legal processes.
  • experience with crm software or ticketing systems.
