hours/shifts: up to 2 hours x 5 weekdays at lunchtimes based at my workplace in lancing. there may be more time available for other tasks as needed.

summary

• i am a 46 year old lady with mental health needs living in worthing.

• i am an easy-going person and enjoy socialising with others. i take an interest in current affairs, films and music.

• my work is an important part of my life and a great protecting and motivating aspect to my wellbeing.

• the role will mainly involve visiting me at my work place in lancing, checking on my wellbeing, prompting me to take medication if needed and any other practical support required to enable me to remain working safely.

• you will be required to identify any signs of relapse and communicate my needs clearly to my employer and other professionals. also supporting me to use public transport to return home if required.

• assistance with domestic tasks e.g. cleaning, meal planning/preparation, shopping as and when needed.

• applicants must be experienced in working with people with mental health needs.

• you should also be friendly, approachable, patient and understanding.

• driver with own car would be useful but not essential.

• ideally this role could be carried out as a job share between two pas. so please apply for the days you are available.

• this will be a rewarding role with training/guidance provided by mental health professionals.

the successful applicant will be:

• experienced in working with people with mental health needs

• able to learn my needs and recognise/identify when i am showing signs of relapse and support me to manage this

• friendly and approachable

• patient and understanding

• i vape but only outside so be willing to work in this environment and only smoke/vape outside too (if relevant)

• comfortable with cats (when working in my home)

• respectful of the employer’s privacy and confidentiality

• reliable with good time-keeping

• able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative

• hygienic, tidy minded and well organised

• fit and healthy to undertake the required duties

• honest and trustworthy

• able to speak and read english to a reasonable standard

• legally permitted to work in the united kingdom

• able to work at all times to high standards of health & safety

previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
