we are an it distributor with over 30 years' experience in the sector. we started out as a memory manufacturer and have evolved as a hybrid distributor. we have recently relocated to new premises in membury and due to increasing volumes of business, are looking to expand our team.

working closely with the head of it, you will be flexible and comfortable working under pressure to meet deadlines. you'll have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate across all levels.

key responsibilities:

- be the expert in a wide range of allocated core ict systems and technologies to ensure that they meet requirements

- development and administration of application databases

- development and implementation of application integration tools and processes

- liaise with areas of the business and other technology services teams to define requirements and effectively translating information into the best technical solution

- provide day-to-day support of all core applications that are critical to the smooth running of the business

- review emerging technologies for potential use

- participate in full development life cycle, design, coding, testing, and production release

experience & skills:

- experience of working with sql server - development and administration

- degree level education or equivalent

- dealing with 3rd party supplier integrations

- experience of web based business applications

- experience of supporting and integrating applications

professional skills & competencies:

essential

- database administration - indexes, backup procedures, security, and performance tuning.

- solid understanding of relational database design and development

- strong understanding of visual studio, bids and other ides

- experience of end-to-end testing

- ability to learn new programming languages and tools

- programming languages - xml, vb.net, vba, json

- knowledge of iis

- understanding of mysql

- knowledge of edi delivery

desirable

- programming languages - c#, python

- understanding of implementing sql server analysis services and data warehousing

- knowledge of windows server environment and tools

- sharepoint development
