Lead controls engineer - united kingdom, tilbury, essex

our client, pioneer in zero-emission transport and an expert in hgv technologies has an exciting position for a lead controls engineer. the successful candidate will be responsible for developing, updating, and implementing control specifications and standards for manufacturing equipment and systems, ensuring integrated it solutions and machinery safety. the lead controls engineer will: manage the overall planning, co-ordination and delivery of control systems and standards to ensure production ready equipment interfaces. manage the achievement of the team performance objectives. develop and maintain close working relationships with other manufacturing engineering process teams, manufacturing operations, and it departments. develop and maintain technical standards, project books, and specifications for all manufacturing systems in line with the departments bill of process. develop and maintain interfaces specifications from shop floor plc s/applications to manufacturing execution systems. develop new suppliers, cost effectively, into the groups standards for equipment manufacture develop and contribute to the controls training for manufacturing operations teams work with oem s during the design & build phase to ensure all manufacturing engineering controls standards and specifications are achieved. manage the machine safety commissioning on site through to capability and plant sign-off the lead control engineer will have: previous experience and expertise in the specification, delivery, installation and launch of controls systems, preferably in an automotive or powertrain environment thorough understanding of machine electrical systems and designs in manufacturing relevant degree or equivalent experience understanding of machinery safety legislation and standards ethernet ip network experience of computer numerically controlled programming methods profinet and profisafe experience great communication and interpersonal skills ability to work independently, is results driven, demonstrating tenacity, drive, and perseverance with the ability to deliver operational plans in a complex, highly demanding environment please apply online if you are interested in this role and we will be in touch shortly
