all-rounder, chef needed to run a small kitchen in a young and growing, highly-rated, highgate heritage venue in north london which is rapidly becoming known for its warm welcome, quality drinks and anglo-irish and classic fresh food offerings, lively conversation, good service and irish traditional, jazz and folk-americana acoustic music sessions, all delivered in a good-humoured and calm but busy environment. tv and sport free.

must have at least 1 year’s chef-de-partie level or equivalent experience in a reputable pub/restaurant/gastropub and be personable, level-headed, fluent in english and able to work well as part of a small, happy and co-operative and flexible team.

our kitchen is currently open monday, wednesday and friday from 5pm to 9pm and on saturdays and sundays from noon to 8/9pm. sunday service has a strong emphasis on quality sunday roasts. excellent opportunity here for a competent, creative chef who wants to advance rapidly within the business to include a kitchen profit share. successful applicant will be responsible for the menu in consultation with the owner, food margins, stock and ordering, kitchen assistants and hygiene management. previous experience with charcoal cooking and preparation of quality buffets is of benefit. must be able to show entitlement to work in uk, be available to start within 2 weeks and be prepared to commit to a minimum contract of 1 year.

initial pay will be commensurate with experience and in the range £12.5 to 15.50 ph, including tronc and will be reviewable after 4 months. expected hours 40+ pw.
