Manufacturing manager - united kingdom, wigan, manchester

our client, a heat treatment equipment & refractory anchors manufacturing company, is looking to recruit a manufacturing manager for their wigan works.

ideally you will be from an engineering background. experience of autocad and sage 200 would be highly beneficial.

you will be based at the wigan office, working monday to friday 08:00 - 17:00hrs.

£40,000 - £45,000 per annum

primary day-to-day duties of this role will include but not be limited to:

daily management of the heat treatment equipment & anchors department (currently a team of 10)
dealing with customer enquiries in a pleasant, helpful, efficient way and representing the company in a positive light at all time
dealing with suppliers
maintaining stock levels & overseeing stock control
maintaining and keeping up to date training records for the manufacturing employees
collating clock cards and submitting to accounts department
creating engineering drawings & /electrical schematics (autocad)
liaising with shipping companies with regards to importing and exporting of goods
maintaining a safe working environment

using sage 200 software, you will be required to:

raising quotations/processing through to order
processing purchase orders
setting up/creating new product codes on the database
setting up and maintaining boms
raising and issuing work instructions

experience of using sage 200 software or the equivalent would be an advantage, however training will be provided.

in conjunction with the above, you will be expected to:

establish goals for production, and coordinate a plan to meet those goals
ensure production stays on schedule
assure products meet quality standards
analyse production data and optimize for efficiency
ensure workers and equipment meet performance and safety requirements
watch for hiccups in the process, and look for opportunities to improve operations
support employees as questions, concerns, or feedback arises
supervise staff and delegate tasks to employees
communicate with other departments

a highly organised approach to the workplace and the ability to co-ordinate a busy workload
a friendly and approachable personality, someone who enjoys engaging with others
the ability to work under pressure when required to meet deadlines as there are busy periods in this role
must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings
must have a full uk driving licence
