phoenix gray recruitment are currently recruiting for a band 5 communications and engagement officer, you will be reporting to the communications and engagement manager. this is a 3-month contract starting asap, this is a competitive role with the opportunity to help you progress in your career. key responsibilities include:

understand and support the delivery of the communications and engagement strategy objectives and how they align with trust’s strategic vision, values and goals.support the implementation of meaningful two-way communication of trustwide and locally specific informationdevelop outline communication/engagement action plans and provide general advice and support to stakeholders on messaging, implementation and monitoring progress/outcomes.collaborate and partner with colleagues in services, service users, patients and carers to maintain good relationships and to proactively identify communications and engagement opportunitiespromote meaningful engagement of stakeholders to develop a culture of real involvement throughout the trust – from design, development to delivery.gather information from both cwp and wider sources to inform reactive and proactive communications and engagement approaches to good reputation management and generating positive news stories for the trust.channels of communication

use an integrated approach across multiple communications and engagement channels with an understanding of the potential and appropriate uses of each.adapt ideas/messages/plans into simple and engaging content for multiple channels and audiences including newsletters, print media, webpages, social media and other publications such as posters, flyers, leafletsundertake photography shoots and editing for use internally and externallyundertake basic videography/audio recording and editing for use internally and externallycontribute to the conceptual development and production of design and branding requests as part of projects, in line with the departmental strategysupport trust event coordination to varying levelslocality working and engagement

act as the operational day to day communications and engagement link for required localities and service areas.develop insight and relationship management with understanding of local challenges and opportunities to shape meaningful and engaging communicationwork from various locations across the trust footprint when required and provide regular close support in day-to-day activities and wider projects.general team support

keep up to date with daily news alerts and industry best practice to help inform decision makingassist with general enquiries, advice and support beyond area of specialismassist with proofreading for a wide range of communication and engagement materials that the department receiveslead a variety of projects with prioritisation of deadlines and goal monitoring and in line with any budget constraintsmonitor and measure impact/value of projects and activities using a range of evaluation techniques that demonstrate effective workpromote adherence to relevant policies, procedures, regulations and legislation (including health & safety, equality & diversity issues and nhs policy requirements for involvement in line with section 242 of the nhs act (2006).support the team with additional responsibilities outside areas of specialism when required, to support periods of annual leave and/or at times when there is increased demand on other areas of the department.qualifications and experience:

a good standard of education to graduate level or equivalent knowledge / degree level qualification or equivalent experience in communications, engagement, or a related discipline.understand the main principles of communications and engagement, including experience of developing and delivering campaigns across internal and external channelsgood presentation and communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to build rapport and credibility with staff, service users, carers and members of the public.competent in the use of microsoft office products specifically word, powerpoint and excel.demonstrate a good understanding of equality and diversity in relation to service user and carer involvement.understanding of the impact of stigma in relation to mental illness, learning disabilities and substance dependency.experience of writing and engaging with for different audiencesexperience of event planning from concept to deliveryexperience of online writing for different audiencesexperience of liaising with external agencies.demonstrable experience in working with online media – this should include content management systemsknowledge/experience of using online media platforms to achieve objectives within communication campaignsexperience of working as a member of a team as well as on your owncompetent in the use of microsoft office productsexperience of working with a variety of people and groups, including clinical and non-clinical staff, the public, community, faith and voluntary sector organisations.analytical and judgement skills:
