the fraser centre community trust is recruiting for a cook (p/t) to join our team.

situated in the centre of tranent the fraser centre opened in 2019 with an award winning hub featuring a cafe, cinema, activity rooms and offices. the café is the heart of our hub serving as a popular place to meet friends, family and colleagues over breakfast, lunch or a coffee.

the café also caters for events as well as our own cinema programme.

hours: flexible part time hours including weekends and occasional evenings.

pay: dependent on age and experience. the fraser centre community trust is a living wage employer.

place: the fraser centre, 3a winton place, tranent, east lothian, eh33 1af

the role will include:

assisting the catering manager.
cooking, baking and food preparation;
preparing coffee and other drinks.
representing the trust and our high standards of customer service;
ensuring the café is clean and safe;
welcoming & assisting customers;
taking payments;
acting as duty supervisor in the absence of the catering manager
assisting the catering manager in any other aspect of the café operation.

training in food hygiene and first aid will be provided as part of our training.

we are looking for someone a dedicated employee with high standards in service, excellent customer service skills, enjoys working with the public and part of a team, excellent communication skills and keen to work for a community focused charity in our vibrant community hub.

previous cooking experience essential.
