our client currently have exciting opportunities for machine operators to join the team. working on a tube winding machine and/or tube labelling machine whilst reporting to the shift supervisor, the machine operator will be is responsible for the setting up, operation and general housekeeping of one of the multiple winding/labelling machines within the composites production department.

main duties:

ensuring hse best practices are followed throughout departmentsetting up and operating tube winding and/or labelling machinesenabling the production of quality products off the machines in a timely mannerensuring machines are operated efficiently in line with ssows and best maintenance practicesdriving continuous improvement through process and engineering opportunitiesdriving waste reduction by working towards % targetsdriving production efficiencies by working towards volume based targetsperforming other tasks within the production department when required and trained to do so (packing, checking, case erector, fulfilment etc.)

key skills & knowledge:

demonstrated commitment to good health and safety practices.general mechanical knowledge is essential.experience of working within a manufacturing environment is essential.experience of working with similar operating equipment is preferable.nvq level 3 in mechanical engineering or similar discipline would be an advantage.demonstrated ability to work towards tight production deadlines without compromising safety, quality or waste expectations.excellent communication and team working skills.ability to identify and act upon process improvement opportunities.knowledge of lean manufacturing and smed techniques would be an advantage.

the roles will be shift based working a rotating pattern of 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm and they are able to offer an immediate start to the right candidates.
