essential duties & responsibilities:

  • assesses the electronic components materials market to identify business opportunities, evaluates economics and risk factors, and develops the business strategy required to drive success.
  • solicits new customers introducing existing products and analyzing potential for new products, applications and technologies. communicates application needs to r&d dept.  
  • acts as a liaison between customer, local personnel and japan coordinating effort to develop new products and meet customer’s application needs. makes recommendations to customer.
  • works closely with existing customers, promoting use of existing products and analyzing potential for new products, applications and technologies. communicates application needs to r&d dept.  
  • provides the industry vision necessary to identify market and technology trends. this includes staying abreast of new industry trends and technologies, and maintaining awareness of competitor activity.
  • regularly reports to senior management and corporate division to apprise them of findings and activities.  uses various forms of reporting including project sheets.
  • handles special projects as needed.
  •  

    qualifications

  • bachelor's degree from four year college or university with business concentration, marketing degree preferred; or 3 or more years sales and marketing experience in the electronics industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • experience in international business (trading) important.
  • strong interpersonal skills to interface with many levels of an organization including executive management level of the business community.
  • strong follow up skills.
  •  ability to work under general supervision and rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned goals.
  • ability to manage individual budget/expense.
