overall responsibilities:

we are looking for a qualitative uxr to help improve smartwatch apps and experiences and test concepts for future iterations on the wear os platform. you’ll be responsible for:

  • working closely with cross-functional, remote/hybrid team (pm, ux, pgms, eng)
  • conducting and analyzing user behavior through user studies; a range of methodologies like interviews, literature review, usability benchmarking, concept testing to answer research questions and triangulate experiments results
  • further developing feedback channels for tracking satisfaction and usability over time 
  • delivering key insights to stakeholders in clear, concise, and compelling way
  •  

    top daily responsibilities
  • conduct qualitative user research, primarily in-lab usability sessions
  • user study moderation
  • administer questionnaires and surveys
  • assist other user researchers with various user research preparation activities
  • literature reviews
  • lab setup & management
  • liaise with participant recruiting teams and participant onboarding
  • skill/experience/education

    mandatory

  • 2-4+ years of professional experience (outside of college projects) executing and shaping research studies in ambiguous spaces with the ability to work independently.
  • ba/bs degree in anthropology, human-computer interaction (hci), human factors, psychology, sociology, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • experience with research design utilizing various methods (e.g., usability studies, contextual inquiry, surveys, etc.).
  • relevant product research experience, either in an end-to-end, usability, or generative setting.
  • desired

  • deep working knowledge and demonstrated practice of a wide range of research methodologies, their strengths/weaknesses, and when to apply them in the product life cycle.
  • attention to detail, ability to prioritize & manage multiple tasks efficiently .
  • excellent track record on working with designers, engineers, and other team members, a collaborative and innovative spirit is must.
  • excellent written and spoken communication; presentation storytelling skills.
  • experience with user satisfaction, ux heuristics, benchmarking.
  • experience with product inclusion.
