overall responsibilities:
we are looking for a qualitative uxr to help improve smartwatch apps and experiences and test concepts for future iterations on the wear os platform. you’ll be responsible for:
working closely with cross-functional, remote/hybrid team (pm, ux, pgms, eng)
conducting and analyzing user behavior through user studies; a range of methodologies like interviews, literature review, usability benchmarking, concept testing to answer research questions and triangulate experiments results
further developing feedback channels for tracking satisfaction and usability over time
delivering key insights to stakeholders in clear, concise, and compelling way
top daily responsibilities
conduct qualitative user research, primarily in-lab usability sessions
user study moderation
administer questionnaires and surveys
assist other user researchers with various user research preparation activities
literature reviews
lab setup & management
liaise with participant recruiting teams and participant onboarding
skill/experience/education
mandatory
2-4+ years of professional experience (outside of college projects) executing and shaping research studies in ambiguous spaces with the ability to work independently.
ba/bs degree in anthropology, human-computer interaction (hci), human factors, psychology, sociology, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
experience with research design utilizing various methods (e.g., usability studies, contextual inquiry, surveys, etc.).
relevant product research experience, either in an end-to-end, usability, or generative setting.
desired
deep working knowledge and demonstrated practice of a wide range of research methodologies, their strengths/weaknesses, and when to apply them in the product life cycle.
attention to detail, ability to prioritize & manage multiple tasks efficiently .
excellent track record on working with designers, engineers, and other team members, a collaborative and innovative spirit is must.
excellent written and spoken communication; presentation storytelling skills.
experience with user satisfaction, ux heuristics, benchmarking.
experience with product inclusion.
