manchester metropolitan university is an ambitious university and an inspiring place to work. one of the largest universities in the uk, located at the heart of a vibrant and exciting city, we trace our roots back to the early part of the nineteenth century, when institutions were established to deliver skills and education for local people, improving livelihoods and the economy. today, we remain at the heart of this great global city, continuing to play our part in its wider community and economy by empowering and enriching our students, colleagues and our wider community. the development and alumni relations (dar) team supports strategic priorities by building and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with its alumni, other influential individuals, companies and charitable trusts and foundations. working towards an ambitious three-year plan that aims to significantly grow alumni volunteering and its beneficial impact on student success and grow fundraising income ten-fold, the development services assistant will play an important role towards these goals in the dar team. the role we are seeking a development services assistant, who will assist in the delivery of the development and alumni relations team's strategic priorities through the delivery of administrative and database support. this post assists with a wide range of activities, including gift processing, database support and prospect research. they will manage sensitive personal and financial data while maintaining and developing the crm database (raiser's edge nxt) which underpins all development and alumni relations activity. about you for this role, you will need to have: significant proven experience of successfully carrying out a range of database tasks and dealing with large amounts of sensitive data with excellent attention to detail, preferably in the field of alumni and fundraising data administration. ideally you will be accustomed to importing and exporting data, creating and generating database searches, producing reports and working flexibly within a team on a wide range of tasks simultaneously. you will be able to work independently and have excellent administrative and organisational skills with the ability to work proactively on confidential matters in a fast-paced environment, to achieve deadlines whilst retaining accuracy and discretion. interviews will be held on the week commencing 24th october. in recognition of staff contributions to the university's achievements during the 2021/2022 academic year, an additional discretionary payment of 2% per annum will be added to your salary until 31/07/23 in order to ensure consistency amongst existing and incoming staff. this additional 2% will be paid pro rata in equal monthly installments, on top of your salary each month until 31/07/23. manchester metropolitan university is committed to supporting the rights, responsibilities, dignity, health and wellbeing of staff and students through our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion. we promote applications from all sections of the community, irrespective of background, belief or identity, recognising the benefits that a diverse organisation can bring and particularly encourage applications from groups which are underrepresented in the university workforce. hybrid working is offered for this role. the nature of the role requires presence on campus at certain times of year, but at other times you will be able to complete some work remotely. we recognise the benefits and importance of an environment that supports flexible working and are open to conversations throughout the application process. closing date: 16 october 2022
