we are currently seeking a foster youth counselor to join our team in san jose, ca. this is not contract work. apply below if interested and you meet the following qualifications. 

under the supervision of the senior program manager of f&c the intensive care coordinator facilitates coordination of services and provides direct behavioral health services for children and youth in the foster care system or who are in danger of being removed from the home. you are responsible for facilitating access to care and support services for clients and their caregivers with the treatment team and outside agencies.

qualifications

masters degree or higher in social work, psychology, behavioral sciences, or related field

one year or more experience working with high-needs children and families

advanced skills in crisis intervention, suicide assessment, conflict resolution, and interpersonal communication are preferred

familiarity with community-based resources

excellent problem-solving and organizational skills

understanding of cultural issues, community resources and family dynamics

ability to communicate well with people of diverse cultural, professional, and experiential background.

ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships as part of a multidisciplinary team

ability to maintain a valid california driver license, current personal auto insurance, and an mvr sufficient to maintain insurability under agency auto liability policies

experience working with department of social services, mental health, and other county agencies preferred

bilingual in cantonese, mandarin, spanish, vietnamese, farsi, or tagalog highly desired
