essex youth services are looking for a highly motivated and skilled youth and community worker to work as part of the team in the west of the county, to develop our community capacity building youth work model.

we are looking for a dynamic youth worker with significant experience of working with young people and members of the community to continue to develop our model. the successful candidate will supervise and support a team of youth support workers and volunteers to develop the local youth offer.

to be considered for this post you will have experience and knowledge of implementing policies procedures including safeguarding, health and safety and anti-discriminatory youth work practice.

you will support the senior youth worker to commission activity, work collaboratively with colleagues and partners, and help others to develop high quality youth work provisions. you will be a creative thinker with a strong focus on improving outcomes. you will be both proactive and responsive, combining energy and enthusiasm with the tenacity and drive to see things through.

job purpose summary

to work with young people and their communities:

work closely with the senior youth and community worker to help young people and the community to develop the skills and capacity to design and deliver youth provision in their community have supervisory responsibility for the youth support workers and volunteers within a quadrant area make contact and establish relationships with professionals, young people, and their communities ensuring the 'voice' of young people is heard in the design and delivery of effective youth work provision encouraging and enabling young people to participate in a range of educational and personal development activities ensuring access to information and personal support, which enables young people to develop the confidence and skills to become creative, active members of their communities. holiday entitlement of 30 days plus bank holiday rising to 35 days after 5 years continuous service.
