we are seeking a fun, enthusiastic, professional and proactive carer/buddy to work with a charming and charismatic 18 years old. he is an engaging and sociable boy who has cerebral palsy and requires assistance in his daily routine. he uses an electric wheelchair to get around and also enjoys going out in his walker to the local shops. he is able to communicate verbally, and although he can be difficult to understand initially, after spending a short while with him, you are able to tune into his speech, and he is able to spell words out for you. due to this, his carer/buddy must have an excellent command of the english language.

he is a very bright boy and attends a mainstream school. he has a great personality and enjoys being outside and doing lots of activities, including swimming, cinema, horse riding and playing cricket. his carer/buddy must be able to keep up with him and have lots of energy! he has regular therapy sessions, including physio and slt, and his carer/buddy will assist in implementing these exercises on a regular basis. he is also attending hydrotherapy once a week, and his nanny/buddy will accompany him to the pool. he has an adapted vehicle, and it is essential to have a driver working with him to enable him to go out to different places and attend appointments. a clean driving licence is necessary but not mandatory. we are open to live-in/out carer, although the preference is live-in. at present, the hours available are saturday and sunday from 0700am- 2030pm. subject to suitability, we may be able to offer some night shifts as well. weekend rate £10-12 an hour.
