Sewing machinist - united kingdom, high wycombe, buckinghamshire

we are seeking a professional, reliable, enthusiastic, motivated and skilled sewing machinist for part-time work starting asap in the centre of high wycombe. flexible hours are available depending on the candidate. the work is for the next few months with the potential to go permanent.

we have orders in for sports base layers, riding tights, horse exercise sheets, sweatshirts and other orders on the horizon.

the work is mainly cutting and sewing jersey fabrics on the overlocker, flat lock and potentially cover stitch machine (training provided for the cover stitch if needed).

requirements:

able to work calmly at pace and under pressure to a very high standard
able to quickly move from one product type to another sometimes multiple times a day
flexible, energetic and cheery approach - happy to switch from sewing to cutting to qc-ing to tidying and product packing as and when required (vast majority of the work is sewing)
able to work professionally in a mixed, open plan factory/office workspace
desire and ability to identify mistakes and learn from them alongside seeking ways to improve processes, production techniques and optimise efficiency
strong time-keeping, attention to detail and organisational skills
able to keep work spaces clean and tidy
able to work under own initiative (sometimes alone)

beneficial:

predominantly factory experience is preferred

there is no home working available. candidates must be comfortable working with dogs (three) in the factory.
