we are looking to hire an experienced live in male carer for our 84yr old father with alzheimer’s. you will have your own double bedroom and bathroom in a two bedroom flat, parking for a car, all meals whilst working and within 5 minutes walk to wimbledon town centre. you will have every weekend free.
you must have experience working with elderly male patients and a lot of alzheimer’s care experience too (including help with bathing, dressing, and general mobility). english fluency is also essential due to his communication skills which are diminished from the dementia. you will need to have a positive, outgoing personality, with a can-do attitude and a calm demeanour. an interest in nutrition and cooking, music and the arts would also be beneficial.
you would need to work from 7pm sunday evening to 9.30am saturday morning. working hours will fall between 8am-9pm - no night cover is required at this stage. saturday-sunday are free days as this would be covered by agency carers.
to start asap. salary in the region of £30,000+ pa gross dependent on experience + holidays. you will have full use of all the flats amenities, a shopping card and the support of a close knit family. we would also consider a rotational care system but would need you to apply alongside your rotation buddy.
