warehouse supervisor - cottondale al - $60-63k - onsite - direct hire

must have:

3 + years leadership / management experience

excel experience

proficient sap experience

 

objective of the position:

  • supervise the warehouse department of the cottondale facility with direct responsibility for shipping, receiving, sequencing and warehousing. supervise all personnel, flow of materials from receipt of the product to storage to shipping, and ensure full control of physical inventory within the facility.
  •  

    responsibility:

  • in own area of responsibility: responsibility for safe working, environmental protection and energy management. for managers, this extends to their entire area of responsibility and personnel area.
  • supervise, instruct, develop and train assigned employees.
  • assure compliance with quality policy & guidelines and the procedures of the iatf16949 based management system.
  • assure compliance with safety and environmental protection policy and the usa safety and environmental health manual.
  • assure all relevant legal, customer and group requirements for area of responsibility are met.
  • assure quality of all relevant sap master data.
  • maintain appropriate records and files, preferably electronically.
  • maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in the area of responsibility.
  • focus on continuous improvement, both personally and for assigned personnel.
  • other duties as assigned by superior.
  •  

    duties in detail:

  • sets targets for all assigned direct reports and regularly reviews progress.
  • regularly reviews employee performance and defines training and development actions.
  • coaches and supports employees in all aspects of employment.
  • meeting participation according to the communication system.
  • maintain the warehouse and storage of all materials in plant.
  • implement and maintain fifo & 5s standards.
  • conduct cycle counts and maintain inventory levels.
  • communicate with management any variances to the inventory and provide feedback on solutions.
  • supervise material handlers in receiving, stock put-away and storage, and shipping.
  • communicate with logistics department in honduras to assist with inbound pass-through materials to atlanta facility. 
  • coordinate outbound containers with honduras to ensure proper container consolidation and delivery schedules.
  • provide forklift training and maintain service records/checks for forklifts.
  • request orders with appropriate personnel for warehouse and operations supplies.
  • assist with cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • monitor hourly personnel times and time cards and input information into adp, or submit to temporary agency.
  • track employee attendance.
  • all other additional tasks and duties assigned by superior.
  •  

    technical requirements:

  • hs diploma or ged required, some secondary education preferred.
  • minimum 3 years warehouse supervisor experience.
  • ability to post goods receipt in sap system for both internal and external systems.
  • ability to backflush finished goods and generate delivery notes and invoices in sap system.
  • ability to monitor inbound shipments and schedule receiving times (includes using freight forwarder tracking systems).
  • certified in forklift operations and training.
  • knowledge of personnel time clock software and adp time keeping software.
  • detailed understanding of shipping and receiving activities and practices, and warehouse management systems.
  • familiarity with fifo principles.
  • knowledge of freight forwarder and transportation systems.
  • familiar with 5s practices.
  • knowledge of iatf16949.
  • knowledge of the automotive industry preferred.
  • knowledge of german and/or spanish language a plus.
  • proficient in ms office software (excel, word, outlook).
