a lovely british couple that live on an estate in bibury are looking for an experienced housekeeper to join their friendly team. the family are informal but have high standards and this is not a uniformed role. they live in a 9 bedroom home and have a team that consists of 2 other housekeepers (one works weekends) gardeners and a pa. they also have dogs, birds and a cat on the estate so you must be animal friendly. they also have 4 grown up children that visit the estate occasionally.
job description
the role will consist of generally housekeeping to a high standard. the family have lots of fine art and antiques on site as well as fine fabrics, specialist surfaces and silver. laundry will also be part of the role as well as linen changes, but the ironing is done by someone else and will not be part of your role. as mentioned there are quite a few animals on site you will have to pet friendly and occasional feed the dogs or let them out. the principals cook for themselves and bring in caterers for dinner parties so cooking is not part of the job.
candidate requirements
it is essential that you have worked in a private household before or on a boat preferably in a team and have checkable written references. a driving licence essential as you will need to drive to and from work. you must be pet friendly.
days of work, and salary
monday – friday – 9am – 5pm with weekends free.
£29/30k gross with contract.
december start but will wait till january for the right person.
this is a year long maternity contract but there is a possibility for a permanent role beyond a year as the original housekeeper may only come back part time.
