Electrical testing engineer - united states, columbia (tennessee)

adecco is proud to partner with tritium, a specialist designer and manufacturer of power-electronic systems and chargers, helping fill a full-time, permanent/direct hire electrical testing engineer in lebanon, tn. 

the electrical testing engineer will be responsible for end-of-line testing of tritium dc fast chargers and sub-systems, including diagnosis of rma chargers. this role may include commissioning new units in the field from time to time. further, the test & diagnostics engineer will validate the operation and performance of the charger wiring and electrical systems throughout the build and at the end-of-line commissioning station. tasks will include troubleshooting wiring, verifying operation and performance of electrical systems using external test equipment and through the use of the software computer control systems.

key objectives

  • adheres to the current tritium manufacturing system to commission each charger at the end-of-line (eol) test station.
  • diagnose rma units to ascertain faults and appropriate solutions
  • validates the correct operation of each system.
  • troubleshoots wiring and other control systems.
  • assists to generate and improve current testing procedures.
  • thoroughly documents issues found and job progress.
  • maintains and improves the processes of charger commissioning relative to the demands of production schedules.
  • supports creation and implementation of sub-system tests before final charger assembly to reduce eol testing required.
  • creates tools to aid the commissioning task.
  • functions as a team member with other departments to troubleshoot issues and improve our products.

  • position requirements
    education

  • bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
  • advanced engineering degree preferred

  • experience

  • 4-6 years of experience with electrical equipment systems or electronics validation and testing. experience with 480 v 3 phase and rectifier technologies
  • significant experience in programming and machine controls in a manufacturing environment.
  • ability to read and understand wiring schematics and drawings.
  • experience in troubleshooting complex electrical systems.
  • familiarity with electronic test equipment setup and operation.
  • strong understanding of the theory of operation of electric vehicle transportation related electrical system.
  • experience with hw test tracking tools (jira, salesforce).

  • a base salary range of $70k-$100k/year
