the business has been manufacturing, precision engineered, nuts, bolts and special fasteners for aerospace, automotive, f1, wind turbine and general engineering customers for over 100 years.
having recently been acquired the business is now going through a period of investment and increased customer demand.
hence is looking to grow and a hire a procurement manager into the team for the first time.
the office-based procurement manager buyer will be responsible for
sourcing the correct materials based on customer requirements, identifying alternatives if necessary and liaising with the customer as neededreducing stock through efficient purchasing and making use of alternativesbooking in and out of stock & therefore stock accuracycontrol of all sub-contractors – selection, audit, order placing and progress chasingidentifying new sub-contractorshelping to improve all process across the whole supply chainexperience in driving change and process improvementsupporting customer service team when required – processing orders, answering queries, organising deliveries.
knowledge / skills
strong background in procurement and process improvementprobably educated in engineering to degree levelvery strong it skills. a new it system will be implemented in the next 18 months and they would be a key player in that project as well as day to day managing stock on the system.
