chemdose ltd has an opportunity for an electrician to develop their career working within the water industry.

they are a water treatment specialist company with over 30 years’ experience. we operate throughout the uk; offering clients a one stop shop for their water treatment requirements.

we are a friendly and professional multi-disciplined team, responsible for the design management of a variety projects.

reporting to the project manager and coordinated by the site supervisor, you will be responsible for the electrical installation and testing of industrial equipment, plant and associated ancillary materials for water treatment, wastewater treatment and pumping stations and chemical dosing systems.

we ask that you have completed your 18th edition wiring regulation and have an ecs electrician card with all the qualification to be an industry electrician.

specific responsibilities:

the main skills required are:

installation of power, control & instrument swa cabling for:

pumps utilised within the water industry – i.e. booster pumps, sewage pumps, dosing pumps
valve actuators, instrumentation, small power and lighting circuits
control panels & mcc’s
industrial equipment, such as screening equipment, filters, scraper bridges, distributors, penstocks, kiosks, dosing rigs etc. typically found within the water industry
all relevant earthing requirements including bonding of extraneous metal equipment
installation of cable containment/management systems
galvanised cable tray
ducting & draw pits
metal & plastic conduits

testing of all power circuits to bs7671 and complete all relevant niceic test certificates
continuity and earth resistivity testing of all other cabling
fault finding – assisting commissioning activities
part of a mechanical & electrical gang – assisting mechanical trades when required

key responsibilities

responsible for the safe construction of minor electrical works taking lead hand of electrical works delivering the installation to meet the programme of works during construction phase undertaking a 2 week look ahead to ensure all materials, equipment, plant and resources are available to continue works without disruption red-lining on site issued for construction drawings, marking them ‘as-built’ innovate, providing suggestions and ideas to the project engineer or site supervisor for improved project delivery complete site documentation take responsibility for site safety, health and environmental issues check goods delivered to site are supplied as per order identifying changes to the work information and reporting to the supervisor
