title: program manager

project overview: 

consumer ux spans all consumer facing products at google: search, assistant, maps, payments, shopping and travel. this organization is responsible for representing and designing for the user experience of this product portfolio. 

overall responsibilities: 

this program management role focuses on supporting cross-organization community, culture and training programs for across the portfolio or products. some example programs are

  • managing a series of events focused on manager development, including scheduling, partnering in the development of content, finalizing presentation materials, event communications, and identifying & working with facilitators in the execution of the training
  • supporting the consumer ux wide virtual summit, including scheduling, managing vendors & presenters, and ensuring smooth execution of the event
  • maintaining the schedule, recommending content, and coordinating speakers/presenters for director focused monthly programming. partnering with comms to execute on pre and post event communications. 
  • maintain onboarding programs for the manager and director population including the site, supporting resources, welcome comms, and onboarding cohorts. 

  •  

    top 3 daily responsibilities: 

  • work with partner teams to develop 2023 manager and director schedule of content and events
  • ensure monthly schedules of events are executed smoothly. schedule, develop presentations, identify and prep speakers. support events with pre and post comms, prep sessions for speakers, build training presentations and materials. 
  • ensure onboarding resources are up to date, available and accessible to new hires and their managers
  •  

    mandatory skills/qualifications: 

  • education: bachelors. specific field not required
  • total years experience in what industry, discipline or responsibility:
  • project management: 5+ years
  • event management: 5+ years
  • learning & development: 5+ years
  • skills or processes candidates must have to be considered for role:
  • communication: 5+ years
  • collaboration: 5+ years
  • specific tools or applications experience:
  • google workspace suite of applications
  •  

    non-essential skills/qualifications: 

  • familiarity with user research & design. 
  • experience working with design, research & engineering professionals
