the position is responsible for accurate and effective operation in a clean room environment. the position supports a lean and safe manufacturing environment while focusing on continuous improvement, quality and support of teamwork throughout red star.
essential job functions
responsible to assist in set-up of moderately complex jobs and operation of injection molding manufacturing equipment including tool maintenance.
ensuring that all required processes are completed to produce parts that meet quality and iso standards.
may be responsible to operate some advanced inspection equipment.
review and understand blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part.
sets up and operates molding machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings to ensure functionality and performance.
starts and observes molding machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance molding.
verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
verifies dimensions using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers and heigh gauges.
confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve molding or assembly problems.
assure all policies and procedures are followed and safety precautions are taken to reduce the risk of injury.
maintain a clean work area and assure safe operation of all equipment.

meet all training and educational requirements as specified by department.
knowledge of red star quality policy, work procedures and work instructions per the qms.
aids in specifying and the requisition for machinery needed for production.
evaluate and maintain measuring equipment, test equipment, tooling and supplies.
must be able to work gowned in a controlled clean room environment.
must perform duties with minimal supervision.
