event manager ftc 12-15 months - rugby school 2023 marks the 200th anniversary of the game of rugby football; 200 years since william webb ellis took the ball in his arms and ran with it on the close at rugby school. prior to this date the sport, known as football, was played much like australian rules football is today. it was with a 'fine disregard for the rules of football as played in his time (william webb ellis) first took the ball in his arms and ran with it.' throughout 2023, rugby school, along with the rugby world, will be celebrating this anniversary. we will be welcoming teams from a range of backgrounds and abilities to play on the close, as well as hosting dinners, evenings and our annual festival on the close, which for 2023 will be named "with a fine disregard", in honour of webb ellis. our year will be attended and watched by over 40,000 people from around the world. what we'll give: up to gbp35000 per annum depending on experience compass exclusive offers on perksatwork access to a wide range of programs to train and develop you pension contribution what you"ll be doing purpose of the role: to take full responsibility and accountability for the planning and execution of all events as part of the celebrations. you will liaise with relevant departments and manage a motivated, trained team with the appropriate skills to ensure targets are achieved. to be customer focused and financially astute to achieve company and client objectives. key responsibilities. understanding the requirements of clients and coming up with innovative ideas for events establishing and agreeing upon important parameters, such as budgets and timeframes ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations providing clients or management with regular updates coordinating activities on the day of an event and implement back-up plans when necessary performing post-event evaluation and documenting findings managing event diary for the duration of the event for 12 months who you are our ideal candidate will have: previous event and hospitality service experience management experience leading a team understanding of event operations the ability to think on your feet and handle pressure good organisation for planning before events passion for high level hospitality innovative ideas and creative thinking excellent communication and interpersonal skills. keen eye for attention detail. builds good working relationships with all stakeholders and delivers a service that exceeds expectations. relationships are characterised by a high level of acceptance, co-operation and mutual respect. responds quickly to changing circumstances by being flexible. to not only accept change but to seek it out. value different perspectives and ideas. adheres to a strong set of moral, ethical and professional principles which shows soundness of personal character, honesty and truthfulness. takes personal responsibility and accountability a real "people" person, with rounded leadership and planning skills, with a capacity to grow and develop into new areas of expertise as required well versed in clarifying client and customer requirements ability to work to deadlines
