about this client:

peter (11) is a sporty and active young lad who enjoys playing football and tennis, watching youtube and playing games on his ipad. peter has just started a specialist secondary school which he enjoys. he has diagnoses of autism and tourette’s syndrome and can display behaviour that may challenge. peter is incredibly independent but needs prompting with daily tasks and support with his emotional regulation. when frustrated he can get overwhelmed and his behaviour can escalate, which can develop into physical and verbal abuse if not managed.

overview of role:

this is a rewarding part-time role for a confident nanny / manny who is accustomed to working with young clients with behaviour that may challenge. you will be required to assist with peter’s morning routine, help him to get ready for school and drive him there. whilst he is at school you will be assisting with pa / house duties. in the afternoon you will pick peter up, you need to be a confident driver as the journey can take up to 2 hours due to heavy traffic. after school, you will prompt peter to plan and complete his homework and get everything ready for the next day. you will prepare his dinner and assist with light household chores. peter likes to relax after school and occasionally you can plan outings and fun activities for him. hours required: wednesday 7.30am to 7.30pm. you will be paid for 2 full days but must be willing to cover for peter’s other nanny in case it’s needed. £20.00 gross per hour.

this would be a fantastic role for a resilient, intuitive, and patient sen nanny / manny with previous experience supporting teenage clients with autism and behaviour that may challenge. you will be confident to de-escalate behaviour when needed, manage it calmly and reassuringly and create a trusting bond with peter. you will be a good team player and liaise effectively with peter’s mum, teachers and any other professionals involved in peter’s care.
