we have a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and experienced business development manager to join our team and help grow our business further. the role involves winning new business across yorkshire for parcelhub

working closely with our business development director, you will be responsible for lead generation, developing and maintaining a strong sales pipeline, and ultimately closing new business opportunities to help the business achieve its ambitious goals.

the successful business development manager will have a strong background in selling e-commerce parcel services to online retailers.

you will be reporting directly to the business development director and will be working on your own and be responsible for the success of your sales area.

the successful business development manager must be able to demonstrate commitment and drive on a daily basis and be able to work to ambitious and realistic targets.

you'll be given the opportunity to assist in the creation of and help drive the sales strategy to position parcelhub / whistl as the leading fulfilment and contact centre service provider to multi-million-pound retail and e-commerce businesses in the uk.

you will have a broad sales and communications skillset but have a strong b2b lead generation and sales background. you'll be creative, analytical, and capable of working with multiple stakeholders from across the business.

about the role:

generate leads and follow up on leads received from other sources, internal or external. serve as key point of contact for identified prospective customerspromote and sell all parcelhub products to potential customers; in additional to identifying cross-selling opportunities in to the wider whistl groupachieve an annual budgeted target for new business wins based on revenue, volume, and profitabilitycreate, agree, and execute a sales plan for your geographic area to support profitable annual growthwork as part of a motivated sales team to achieve company targets sharing ideas and opportunities to expand our growing customer basecoordinate the tender process as necessary for potential new clients working closely with the tender manager for larger opportunities. assist in the preparation of client proposals, including product, service, and pricing terms, with customers within agreed limits and making formal tender presentations in order to secure new business wins where requiredconfirm new customer start date and service specifications with operations and ensure contractually agreed service standards are provided; liaise with operations and other functional areas to ensure any issues are resolved in a timely manner to the customer's satisfactionwork with the implementations team to ensure a smooth onboarding of new customersidentify and evaluate growth opportunities in the marketplace and discuss these with all relevant stakeholdersensure a seamless handover of clients to the identified sales colleaguesconduct sales calls, carry out pre-call planning and preparation, and develop a self-analytical approach in order to identify learning areas from each calleffectively utilise the relevant software (e.g. crm systems) to maintain accurate and up to date records; provide related reports as requiredin order to be a successful candidate, you will need to have the following skills:
