this company is one of the uk's largest privately-owned industrial engineering companies and supports three subsidiary businesses. they provide engineering services to industry covering machinery installation and relocation, mechanical engineering, technical and heavy lifting and wind turbine generator construction on a national & international scale.

they are looking for a reliable, experienced fitters & riggers to undertake sites works alongside their teams of permanent and temporary trades people on jobs throughout the uk & europe.

the work involved is typically machinery installations/removals, factory moves, heavy or technical lifting projects or any project requiring the movement of machinery, plant and associated ancillaries.

the content of the projects can include any or all of the following disciplines - heavy lifting, mechanical assembly/disassembly, electrical works, industrial pipework, shipping, packing, demolition or any other required activity.

although working out on site you would be allocated to one of their uk branch locations in either wigan, glasgow, birmingham, rotherham, london or bristol from where you'd receive operational management & support.

group wide you would be joining a professional company currently employing over 200 skilled staff throughout the uk and europe.

main duties

- working to pre-prepared rams

- adhering to relevant health & safety rules & requirements

- correct use of tools & lifting/handling equipment

- assembly & disassembly of machinery, plant & equipment

- jacking, skating, hoisting, skidding various loads

- working within set time budgets

- complete relevant company paperwork relating to safety & assets

- ensuring the correct presentation of yourself & your equipment

about you

- rigging, fitting, slinging, mechanical

other key skills/qualifications required/preferred:

- slinger signaller qualification

- a strong safety ethos

- forklift truck licence

- access platform licence

- 1 year plus practical site experience

- good teamwork skills

- a positive and enthusiastic attitude

- a full driving license

- a drive to succeed & be the best

- a 'can do' attitude
